About me / 2024 / Felicia Caliz Björkman
I’ve always had a thing for all things visual—graphic design, photography, videography, branding, and content creation. Growing up, I directed spooky movies with friends, designed birthday invites for my little brother, and later studied media in high school. Art direction has always been my creative playground.
When I watch movies, I sometimes get more caught up in the color choices and camera angles than in the actual plot.
With a Swedish mom and a Colombian dad, I’ve been lucky to experience the world through a unique blend of cultures. That mix really shapes how I approach my work. I’m also a huge fan of dancing—whether it's salsa or afrobeats—and traveling, which always keeps my creativity alive.
One of my proudest moments was getting accepted into the Digital Creative program at Hyper Island. It felt like a huge step toward my dream of becoming an art director, and really confirmed that I’m on the right path.
I love the balance between creativity and the practical side of making things happen. Brainstorming is my favorite part of the process—I’m all about wild ideas and watching them grow into something even better. And as much as it might sound cliché, I’m a big believer in the “we can make it” mindset, turning challenges into opportunities.
I thrive in both team settings and solo work. I love collaborating with others but also enjoy focusing on my own when it's time to get things done.
Traveling and exploring the internet are my go-to sources of inspiration, constantly sparking new ideas.
Ultimately, I want to work as an art director for a company that shares my values and vision—someplace where I can keep growing and creating.
